And As It Was In The Days Of Noah

In Luke 17 Jesus gives us some clues as to what life will be like when He comes again. He likened it to the days of Noah and the days of Lot. What was life like during the days of Noah and Lot? Jesus tells us what it was like in Luke 17:26-29:

"26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed."

Sounds like life was going on as normal until disasters hit.   The people were partying and having a good time.  Why did the disasters come?  Because the hearts of the people were evil.  Genesis 6:5-8 says that the Lord saw the wickedness of man and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was evil continually.  This wickedness grieved the Lord's heart causing the Lord to bring judgement on a wicked world.

Why was Noah and his family spared.  Noah found grace or favor in the eyes of Lord because Noah was a just man and he walked with the Lord.  God told Noah build the ark in order for the pure blood line of Noah and his family be spared from the judgement that was coming on all the evil people.

Why were none of the other people saved.  They were a race of people with an impure blood line that was caused by Satan's attempt to prevent the coming of Jesus.  We will go into more detail about the impure blood line at a later time but you can read about this in Genesis 6.

Noah is a symbol of the True Church

God was determined to save Noah and his family from His coming judgement and establish His covenant with them.  Noah and his family survive the judgement, but they did go through a time of testing just as I believe every so called "Believer" will go through a time of testing in the last days.  I will talk about that more at a later time.

Although Noah was surrounded by violence and all kinds of evil (as a time of testing), Noah walked with God by seeking to obey Him in all his ways.  The parallel to life today is that people are living everyday normal life of eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, buying and selling, planting, and building big houses.

Today we are surrounded by violence and all kinds of evil, but yet people are living life just as if this has become the normal.  How many of us, that are living in these last days, are like Noah?  Only the True Church is like Noah that walks with God, that listens and obeys the Lord.  Only the True Church will rise above the judgement coming on the earth.  Why?  Because the True Church people are overcame during their time of testing.

Your denominational church is not the True Church, as some believe.  The True Church is a body of believers of all over the world that seek the Lord and obey His commands just as Noah did.  The True Church is made up of  the overcomer's.  Who are the overcomer's?  "He who overcomes"

A Time of Testing of the Church is Coming Soon

In the last post I mentioned that our Heavenly Father is upset because people have not taken Him serious.  Even the churches and so called "True Believers" have not taken Him serious.

The Lord is looking for a people that will walk with Him, hear His voice and obey Him.  Read Revelation 3 below and see what I mean:

To Sardis

"1Write this to Sardis, to the Angel of the church. The One holding the Seven Spirits of God in one hand, a firm grip on the Seven Stars with the other, speaks:

“I see right through your work. You have a reputation for vigor and zest, but you’re dead, stone-dead.

2-3“Up on your feet! Take a deep breath! Maybe there’s life in you yet. But I wouldn’t know it by looking at your busywork; nothing of God’s work has been completed. Your condition is desperate. Think of the gift you once had in your hands, the Message you heard with your ears—grasp it again and turn back to God.

“If you pull the covers back over your head and sleep on, oblivious to God, I’ll return when you least expect it, break into your life like a thief in the night.

4“You still have a few followers of Jesus in Sardis who haven’t ruined themselves wallowing in the muck of the world’s ways. They’ll walk with me on parade! They’ve proved their worth!

5“Conquerors will march in the victory parade, their names indelible in the Book of Life. I’ll lead them up and present them by name to my Father and his Angels.

6“Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches.”

To Philadelphia

7Write this to Philadelphia, to the Angel of the church. The Holy, the True—David’s key in his hand, opening doors no one can lock, locking doors no one can open—speaks:

8“I see what you’ve done. Now see what I’ve done. I’ve opened a door before you that no one can slam shut. You don’t have much strength, I know that; you used what you had to keep my Word. You didn’t deny me when times were rough.

9“And watch as I take those who call themselves true believers but are nothing of the kind, pretenders whose true membership is in the club of Satan—watch as I strip off their pretensions and they’re forced to acknowledge it’s you that I’ve loved.

10“Because you kept my Word in passionate patience, I’ll keep you safe in the time of testing that will be here soon, and all over the earth, every man, woman, and child put to the test.

11“I’m on my way; I’ll be there soon. Keep a tight grip on what you have so no one distracts you and steals your crown.

12“I’ll make each conqueror a pillar in the sanctuary of my God, a permanent position of honor. Then I’ll write names on you, the pillars: the Name of my God, the Name of God’s City—the new Jerusalem coming down out of Heaven—and my new Name.

13“Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches.”

To Laodicea

14Write to Laodicea, to the Angel of the church. God’s Yes, the Faithful and Accurate Witness, the First of God’s creation, says:

15-17“I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking. You’re not cold, you’re not hot—far better to be either cold or hot! You’re stale. You’re stagnant. You make me want to vomit. You brag, ‘I’m rich, I’ve got it made, I need nothing from anyone,’ oblivious that in fact you’re a pitiful, blind beggar, threadbare and homeless.

18“Here’s what I want you to do: Buy your gold from me, gold that’s been through the refiner’s fire. Then you’ll be rich. Buy your clothes from me, clothes designed in Heaven. You’ve gone around half-naked long enough. And buy medicine for your eyes from me so you can see, really see.

19“The people I love, I call to account—prod and correct and guide so that they’ll live at their best. Up on your feet, then! About face! Run after God!

20-21“Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock. If you hear me call and open the door, I’ll come right in and sit down to supper with you. Conquerors will sit alongside me at the head table, just as I, having conquered, took the place of honor at the side of my Father. That’s my gift to the conquerors!

22“Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches.”

Walk With Me

During my year of Old Testament study certain key words and phrases seem to jump off the page to me.  I felt impressed that the Lord was speaking to me as He has a message for me hidden within the text.

The main theme I discovered is that the Lord searches the hearts of every individual.  He is searching for those that are seeking Him that desire a personal relationship with Him.  He is searching for hearts that will trust Him and obey His commands.  He is looking for a people that follow Him and  "Live by Faith".  The just shall live by faith.

Every morning is an exciting adventure as I read His words.  It was as if He is saying, "Walk with Me".  It is as if I am walking beside the Lord as He reveals His heart to me.  It was like a father and son walking down a path together as a dad would teach his son things about life and the things he needed to know.

This past year has been a wonderful and joyful experience as the Lord has revealed things I never knew or understood before.   The enemy attacked me in an attempt to stop me from my quest to know my Heavenly Father.  The enemy's attacks of sickness, hurts, and disappointments only made me stronger in the Lord.

After finishing the Old Testament I started reading Matthew again and I was amazed at how exciting it is to read the words of Jesus as He teaching me things I didn't understand before. It is as if He, like the Father, is saying, "Walk with Me."

The Lord impressed upon me that most people have not taken Him seriously.  He is saying to me that too many people do not care to know Him the way He wants them to.

Jesus is calling you too to come to Him, "Walk with Me".

Getting To Know Him

 2408 × 668 -
If you are a follower or subscriber of this BLOG you may have noticed that I have not posted very much over the past year.  A little over one year ago I had finished reading and studying the New Testament from beginning to end. I sensed that the Lord desired for me to get to know Him in a more intimate way. I felt impressed that He wanted me to read and study the Old Testament.

It has taken me a year for me to study the Old Testament and I have to say this was an incredible journey. I have been studying the Bible for over forty years and I thought I knew God, but now I know that I didn't know His heart. He spoken to my heart as I read and taught me many things that has changed me for my good. He is such an awesome Heavenly Father and I am so glad to know just how much He loves me.

There is so much that I have to share with you, but at the same time I am so overwhelmed with all He's taught me I almost don't know where to begin.  This morning I found a scripture the will be a good starting place as the following scripture pretty describes how the Lord was able to wake me up from my lack of knowledge of Him.

"Awake [[a]from your drunken stupor and return] to sober sense and your right minds, and sin no more. For some of you have not the knowledge of God [you are utterly and willfully and disgracefully ignorant, and continue to be so, lacking the sense of God’s presence and all true knowledge of Him]. I say this to your shame."  1 Corinthians 15:34 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

The Living Bible says it this way: "Get some sense and quit your sinning. For to your shame I say it; some of you are not even Christians at all and have never really known God."

The Lord has changed my heart is ways that I didn't realize I needed change.  I am ashamed to admit that I had been willfully and disgracefully ignorant before.  Now I have a burden for the lost and for those that don't know they are lost.  I'm not sure what the Lord has planned for me from here I just know that He has a plan or a calling for each and every one of us.

Listen to your heart because He's calling you and drawing you to hear Him speak to you.  He has a calling a ministry to serve Him in these Last Days.
