Pray for people to encounter Jesus

Simon the Pharisee invited Jesus over for lunch and I wonder what was his true intent for inviting Jesus to dine with him. A woman, an uninvited guest, came to where Jesus was reclining and washed His feet with her hair and her tears. She also anointed Him with a very costly fragrance and continually kissed His feet. I will not go into the details of this scripture at this time, but if you have not read it for yourself please read Luke 7:36-50. The verse that explains why she did this is verse 47 “. . . Therefore I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven; that’s why she love much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little.”

This woman will always be remembered for the great love she expressed that day. How can we as believers in Christ express our love to Jesus today? Although we cannot express our love and kiss His feet like this woman did, we can express our love for Him by loving others. How can we do that?

Pray for people to encounter Jesus

You may not have thought of this, but this is something I do when I walk in my neighborhood. I do know all of my neighbors, but as I walk by their house I pray for them and ask God's blessings on them. I also ask the Father to send the Holy Spirit to speak to their hearts if they do not know Jesus. I pray that they will have a real and lasting encounter with Jesus. I do the same thing when I drive - I pray for those that I pass on the street that are walking or running on the side of the road. I also pray for the drivers of the other cars around me that they too will be blessed and protected as they travel the roads today. I pray especially that if they do not know Jesus they will have an encounter with Jesus today.

Your prayers for others makes a difference in people lives.  We may see the net results of how God has bless others, because of our prayers, until we enter the gates of heaven.  Those lives we have touched and have gone on before us will be waiting at the gates to welcome us home.

There will be dancing and singing in your honor by Jesus and all those people that you prayed for.
