This statement caught my attention because I've been studying Paul's epistles looking for nuggets of truth that will help me know God with a deeper understanding. My past studies of Paul's epistles have been select scriptures taken out of context, but my new study and been book by book, chapter by chapter, and line by line. I found an understanding of the purpose why Paul had to write different letters to the churches. His letters do contain valuable revelations from the Lord that believers need to know and live by. But, his letters were also in defense of his ministry as there were evil and mean spirited individuals, in the churches he planted, that wanted to destroy his ministry. Things have not changed much today as there are evil and mean spirited individuals that infiltrate themselves in the church leadership in order to undermine the pastor and the ministry of the local church.
