Always Trust in God

Lest we forget In God I Trust

"Keep smiling!'

Me (in a tizzy) : God, can I ask you something?
GOD: Sure.

Me: Promise you won't get mad?
GOD: I promise.

Me (frustrated): Why did you let so much stuff happen to me today?
GOD: What do you mean?

Me: Well I woke up late,
GOD: Yes.

Me: My car took forever to start,
GOD: Okay....

Me (growling): At lunch, they made my sandwich wrong and I had to wait.
GOD: Hmmmm..

Me: On the way home, my phone went dead, just as I picked up a call.
GOD: All right.

Me (loudly): And to top it all off, when I got home, I just wanted to soak my feet in my foot massager and relax, but it wouldn't work. Nothing went right today! Why did you do that?
GOD: Well let me see..... the death angel was at your bed this morning and I had to send one of the other angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that.

Me (humbled): Oh...
GOD: I didn't let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that might have hit you if you were on the road.

Me (ashamed): ............
GOD: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick and I didn't want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn't afford to miss work.

Me (embarrassed): Oh.....
GOD: Your phone went dead because the person that was calling was going to give a false witness about what you said on that call, I didn't even let you talk to them so you would be covered.

Me (softly): I see God.
GOD: Oh and that foot massager, it had a short that was going to throw out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn't think you wanted to be in the dark.

Me: I'm sorry God.
GOD: Don't be sorry, just learn to trust me.........in all things, the good and the bad.

Me: I WILL trust you God.
GOD: And don't doubt that my plan for your day is always better than your plan.

Me: I won't God. And let me just tell you God, thank you for everything today.
GOD: You're welcome child. It was just another day being your God and I love looking after my children.

-----------------------------------
Pray with me; "Heavenly Father forgive me of my grumbling and complaining about the circumstances around me.  I confess my sin as when I grumble and complain I'm not trusting in You.  When I complain I'm not trusting that You know what's going on in the world around me, and I'm not trusting in You that You are protecting me from things that are going on in the spiritual world.

Father thank You forgiving me of my sins yesterday and grant me the wisdom to see that the circumstance around me are not necessarily what's happening in the real world.  Remind me O Father to trust in You no matter how bad things look in the natural.  Thank You for protecting me and my family from the evil one and his attacks that I am not even aware of.

Father I worship you and praise You, and give You thanks for saving me and delivering me and my family.  In Jesus Name.  Amen"

Courageous - The Movie

I didn't get a chance to go see the movie "Courageous" while it was in the theater, but I did rent the movie and we watched it last night.  Wow!  What a powerful movie that is a must see for everyone, especially for those of us who are fathers.

Thank you Kendrick brothers for making such high quality and family oriented films.  Hollywood should be paying attention to what God is doing through you guys.

Check out the video clip:

As law enforcement officers, Adam Mitchell, Nathan Hayes, David Thomson, and Shane Fuller are confident and focused. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood. While they consistently give their best on the job, good enough seems to be all they can muster as dads. But when tragedy hits home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, fears, faith, and fathering. Can a newfound urgency help these dads draw closer to God and to their children?

Rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America for some violence and drug content.

Born of water and of spirit

John 3:5 NKJV

This scripture is used by some denominations believing one must be baptized in order to be saved. Emerson in water is an outward expression of cleansing and being raised from the dead and is an important ceremony, however, I do not believe it is a prerequisit for salvation as many people are saved on their death bed therefore may have time for baptism prior to death.  Yet these people are saved and on their way to heaven just like those that have been baptized.

I believe the water Jesus is referring to here has a two fold meaning.  Number one the water referred to here is the washing of the word. It is the emersion into word of God that cleanses our hearts and number two it is the in dwelling of the Holy Spirit us and keeps our hearts clean by convicting us when we sin.  Even though one is saved we are still subject to sin and will always be subject to sin as long as the evil one remains on earth.  Thankfully Jesus and faithful and just in forgiving our sins when we confess our sins.  It is the Holy Spirit that makes us aware that we have need of repentance and forgiveness.

God speaks to us through the reading and the study of the word and as the word soaks down into our hearts our stubborn hearts are cleansed and changed daily.  Our daily reading, study, and meditation of God's word is necessary to keep our minds focused on the truth of the Word and God's word provides us with the weapons of our warfare against the enemy that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy us daily.  Jesus said that He came to give life and to give it more abundantly, so how does He do that?  He does that by giving us His words for us to read, study, meditate on, and to speak out loud just as He did.  You will notice in the study of Jesus' when He spoke thing happen that changed peoples lives.  He even cursed a tree by speaking to the tree and the tree died that same day.

Woman Caught in Adultery

John 8:2-11 NKJV

At first glance of this woman we assume she is some whore that seduced a married man and that she deserves to be stoned to death according to Jewish Law. The scriptures do not reveal much about this woman except that she is accused of a sin worth death.

We do know that this woman was being used as a tool to try and trick Jesus into breaking the Jewish law by saying not to stone her, therefore giving the Pharisees the right to have Jesus executed. If He had said, "Stone her!" he would have been contrary to Roman law which would have given legal ground for the Roman law to condemn Him.

Jesus knew they were trying to set a trap for Him, but He did not let that bother Him. He diverted His attention from them by writing something on the ground. He ignored them, but yet they pressed Him again. Jesus threw their trap back on the Pharisees by saying, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first." The accusers were convicted because of their own sin and started leaving one at at time beginning with the oldest until they were all gone.

Now we assume that the woman was really caught in the act of adultery, but that may not have been the real truth. We only know she was accused. We also assume that Jesus did not know this woman, but it is possible that He did know her and it is possible that she could have been a believer and it is also possible that she could have allowed herself to get trapped in sin.  I think this woman is an example to us as believers because we are all subject to being seduced into sin again.

I know I am assuming a lot here, but what makes me think this is the way Jesus spoke to her. He did not give her a sermon, as we would, to repent and be saved. I suspect she was already saved because Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more."
